James R. Hoffa Memorial Scholarship
Teamsters 100M is proud to offer the James R. Hoffa Memorial Scholarship Fund to high school seniors who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement.
Our union understands the enormous financial burden that working families bear to ensure their children get a decent post-secondary education. We also believe that no young person should have to carry a five or six figure debt upon graduation and before entering the workforce. This is why we at Teamsters 100M are proud to offer the James R. Hoffa Memorial Scholarship Fund to high school seniors who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement.
James R. Hoffa became a Teamster member in 1934 and served as General President for 14 years. In recognition of his commitment and tireless service to the Union and its members, he was honoured as General President Emeritus for life. At the November 1999 General Executive Board meeting, General Secretary-Treasurer C. Thomas Keegel presented a resolution to establish a new scholarship fund— the James R. Hoffa Memorial Scholarship Fund. The JRHMS fund is an independent charitable organization established solely to provide scholarships to the children and dependents of members of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. Contributions to the JRHMS Fund are tax-deductible.
