Union training is a significant part of Teamsters Canada. There are several training seminars that take place yearly in order to ensure proper representation maintaining collective bargaining gains and improving working conditions.
These seminars are made available to everyone from Local Union Representatives to members. Furthermore, Teamsters Canada has an Education Department, which works with Canadian Labour Congress, Joint Councils, Local Unions and provincial labour federations. Working with such forces allows Teamsters Canada to have the necessary tools to deal with the labour system. There are numerous subjects and issues to cover in unions including grievance procedures, collective bargaining, interpreting collective agreements, health and safety, harassment. It is essential that these issues are understood and taught to members and participants of the labour union. The educational programs offered with Teamsters Canada assists in accomplishing this goal. Please visit the Teamsters Canada website to view which courses are offered.
